Adoley Azu leads Microsoft's Inclusive Research initiative within the Experiences and Devices Division. With over 25 years in policy, law, advocacy, and leadership, she develops strategies, tools, resources, and shared practices for product equity and inclusive research and advocates for fairness, transparency and harm mitigation in AI technologies. She partners across disciplines to create human-centered practices, experiences, initiatives, and strategies that drive transformative progress at the intersection of technology and equity,communicating and influencing diverse audiencesto ensure that research and design methods facilitate the development of globally usable and accessible,products and experiences that meet the needs of a broad range of users.
Before joining Microsoft, Adoley Azu held several key positions including Program Director for Diversity Recruiting at IU Health, Program Director for Alternative Dispute Resolution and Compliance at the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, Affirmative Action Manager at Cummins Inc., and Justice of the High Court of Ghana.
Adoley earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ghana Legon, an LLM in Air & Space Law from McGill University, an LLM from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law, and a Certificate in Management from the Kellogg School of Management.
With experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, she develops human-centered solutions to address core challenges. Whether in court tackling disparate treatment/outcomes, promoting inclusion in research and design, negotiating settlements, or influencing policy, Adoley comes to the table to listen, co-create, and develop fair and equitable solutions that remove barriersat the intersection of product development, global usability, and innovation.
